Meet The Team

The Bay Doctors team of nurses and administrative support have been hand picked to provide you with a welcoming environment, and care and understanding.
Dr Jodie Yapp

Dr Yapp is a well-loved local GP. She has further qualifications in Child Health, Family Planning, Implanon and IUD insertion and Skin Cancer Surgery.

She has been performing skin checks, diagnosing skin cancers using dermatoscopy and excising lesions for many years.

She also has been heavily involved in general practice training and teaching GP registrars, and has been an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practice.

Jodie is friendly and welcoming and a thorough GP.
Jo

Backing up the services offered by Jodie and generally keeping the place running is  our Practice Manager Jo

Jo's efficiency and dedication to customer service is amazing and has been integral to us getting off the ground in such a good way. We are lucky to have her as an integral part of the team. Our patients love her!

In her spare time (ha!) Jo is a dedicated fundraiser for charities including Digging Deep for Burma and Reclaim the Run.

Chantal

Chantal has years of experience in medical administration and other fields and is an absolute delight. Everyone who knows Channie will atest to that.

Channie brings us flowers to work, chats to people as they are waiting to see the doctor, and makes awesome healthy snacks for us. We love her.

It is great to have such personable people working at Bay Doctors. We hope it is making your whole healthcare experience as comfortable and smooth as possible.

Kerrin

Kerrin is an experienced Practice Nurse and was hand picked to work with us. She is an amazing addition to the team with her infectiously bright personality and boundless skill. We have lots of fun working with Kerrin, including singing and dancing in the treatment room during our procedures!

Kerrin works 2 days per week and visits our over 75's for their annual health assessments.  Kerrin has extra training in Women's Health and can offer women's health checks and cervical screening. Patients love her.
Hayley

Hayley is also a practice nurse and we weclomed her into our team in August 2019.  She has fit right in.

We are so thankful to have Hayley and her bubbly nature. She is efficient, enthusiastic and knowledgable and is keeping track of all our patients who are indigenous or who have a chronic disease.

Both our nurses are able to perform skin biopsies, making it easier for patients to have their skin lesion dealt with straight away.
Tianna

Tianna is a beautiful local girl who is training with Jo and Chantal as a juniour receptionist. She was invited to work for the practice as she is a lovely person inside and out.

Tianna is picking things up quickly and may be the face on reception when you visit Bay Doctors. We hope she is part of the furniture for a long time to come.
Medical Students

We are a training practice and will support the learning of medical students and GP Registrars on an ongoing basis.
Our first medical student in November 2018 was George all the way from Adelaide. I think he had a great time!

Giorgia from Tasmania visited in January,
and Valerie from Armidale in February and July. All of these students are with the practice for 3 years and are due back in the summer break.
